Another busy week at St. Dominic School!
In computing the children looked at three examples of Year 5 blogs and worked in groups to come up with a list of blog features. In the next few weeks they will use their IT skills to create their own blog.
In Numeracy the year 5s did well to understand the ladder/long method and short method for multiplying 3 and 4-digit numbers by 1 and 2-digit numbers.
In Art this week the children made some beautiful Anglo-Saxon brooches which were displayed in the class. The plastic gem stones and jewels look very realistic, don’t you think?!
Who won the estimation in the jar this week? It was so close! Sophia nearly won, but Mrs Sandhu beat her by just one Smarty! This week it was Mrs Fisher who put Smarties in the jar for the class to guess the number. Wonder what Mrs Sandhu will put in the jar for next week…
Well done for remembering your reply slips for swimming and the Anglo-Saxon trip!
We hope you have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!
